To another year of Harnessing Expert Insights and Community Synergies to Foster Collective Growth
Milan, 2nd August, 24 — Music Tech Europe Academy (MTEA) concludes its latest edition, showcasing the growth and innovation achieved by participating startups. At the New Visions conference on the 5th of September in Berlin, MTEA will announce the next call for new startups. Powered by MusicTech Germany and WISE, this transdisciplinary event will set the stage for the next wave of entrepreneurs contributing to the evolving European music-tech landscape.
This year, MTEA built up synergies among music industry experts by facilitating 145 hours of mentorship, including 95 hours of one-on-one sessions, hosting 15 experts from around the world and planning 16 workshops and AMA sessions. The latest edition of the programme launched at Linecheck, Italy’s leading music conference and festival in Milan, marking the start of this innovative journey for startups, mentors, and partners.
Throughout the programme, esteemed experts like Georgia Taglietti (The ICNAC), Sakis Tryantafyllakis (Orfium), Yvan Boudillet (Music Tech Europe), Pep Salazar (OFFF), and Matthias Strobel (Music Tech Germany) provided insights to help startups scale and harness their full potential.
The programme concluded at Athens Music Week, a week-long boutique conference and festival in Athens. The MTEA community reunited to review progress and explore new perspectives in the music-tech ecosystem. The event included two pitch sessions, providing a platform for MTEA startups and others to showcase their improvements and share their journeys with a wider audience.
As this intense edition of Music Tech Europe Academy draws to a close, we’re grateful for the incredible community we’re building and proud of our collective achievements. Supporting startups on their growth paths and witnessing their impactful journeys in the music industry validates the efforts behind this acceleration programme.
Feedback collected regarding the MTEA programme highlights these successes:
“Being part of the Music Tech Europe Academy was amazing for UpBeat Studio. I knew building a music-tech business wouldn’t be easy, but I had no idea there were so many incredible experts on this topic in Europe. Thanks to MTE Academy, we’re all connected now, and these new contacts and friends are already being a huge help for our success.” – Raul Rodrigues, UpBeat Studio
“Music Tech Europe Academy is more than just an acceleration programme; it’s a lively community of visionary professionals and like-minded people with a common goal: to transform the European music scene with innovative, sustainable, and market-driven tech and digital solutions. The diverse group of partners, experts, mentors, and jury members ensures a unique journey for MusicTech companies looking for strategic partners, new markets, startup supporters, and valuable—often unexpected—connections,” commented Anna Zò, Music Innovation Hub.
The strength of the programme lies in the opportunity for peer-to-peer exchanges with industry professionals and other entrepreneurs, allowing participants to gain industry knowledge while increasing cooperation to foster collective growth.
“The Music Tech Europe Academy mentorship programme holds substantial importance for the music tech industry and startups, serving as a catalyst for innovation, growth, and sustainability. It provides invaluable guidance, resources, and networks to the 10 startups mentored. Throughout the programme, experienced mentors impart crucial industry-specific insights and technical skills that are often not covered in formal education with a 360-degree angle which should cover all aspects and issues. By offering a problem-solving approach during 7 months, we encourage innovation and build a supportive community. I am grateful to MTEA for offering me the possibility to get in touch with so many futuristic visions: mentoring is most of the time also worth it in reverse,” commented Georgia Taglietti, founder of The ICNAC.
As we open the call for new startups in Berlin, we invite visionary entrepreneurs to join us in this transformative journey. Together, we can continue to drive innovation and sustainability in the European music-tech industry.
