California, USA; May 2024 – Multi platinum, multi-GRAMMY nominated music producer BRYVN has installed EVO Expanded System into his home studio setup, using this alongside his existing iD44 MKII to work on rapper Don Toliver’s latest project.
BRYVN, known personally as Bryan Yepes, has a packed studio full of synthesizers, guitars, bass, mics and pedals. “It’s a lot of gear!” he says, explaining how it is all routed through his EVO Expanded System, which comprises EVO 16 audio interface and two SP8 8-channel mic pres.
Bryan manages to use the majority of the 24 channels of Smartgain enabled mic pres provided in this setup. Describing the system as “very easy to set up and use,” he uses the Smartgain option all the time. “I use it a lot when I use my guitar setup […] and when it comes to vocals it’s amazing. Smartgain is the highlight of the EVO Expanded System for sure alongside the ins and outs too,” he adds.
Often travelling with his iD44 MKII audio interface, Bryan uses it regularly in other studios where he’s working. He particularly appreciates its “amazing preamps”. When he’s at home, the iD44 enables him to “have two setups in one spot”, so he can collaborate with friends who come over to work on new ideas.
Whilst enjoying the arrival of his third child, he has still found time to produce compositions and beats for other artists. “I’m super excited to show the world what’s coming,” he says.
