Industry figure Heidi Shakespeare appointed as chief executive officer of Memnon

LMH co-founder Gary Edwards also takes up the position of Memnon COO as the two brands come together

Brussels, Belgium, September 10, 2022 – Global media preservation and migration services provider Memnon today announces the appointment of Heidi Shakespeare as CEO and Gary Edwards as COO. The appointments are central to Memnon and broadcast media services company LMH, co-founded by Edwards, joining forces under the Memnon name to fuel global expansion and ongoing growth.

With over 25 years of executive experience in driving businesses across the broadcast and digital archiving industries, Shakespeare’s background sees her perfectly positioned to spearhead Memnon’s ambitious plans. She joins the company after successful leadership roles at Iron Mountain Entertainment Services and Bonded Services Group, bringing with her both a strategic and operational skill set as well as a strong background in marketing.

She will work closely with the Memnon team to build the company’s global presence and service the household names that make up its client base, which include broadcasters Fox News and SWR, sports organisations FIFA and the NY Mets, and cultural institutions Meemoo and the New York Public Library.

‘Memnon has long been a leading name in the media industry. Along with its rich heritage of helping brands preserve their content, what makes it such a great company is its community of experts who serve our impressive client list,’ commented Shakespeare. ‘It’s a great feeling knowing that as I get underway, my ambition will be matched by the rest of the organisation and I’m excited to work together with everyone as we continue to grow the company.’

Memnon also welcomes Gary Edwards as the company’s new chief operating officer. Gary brings 30-plus years of expertise in media and post-production, having held both technical and leadership roles at the like of Technicolor and Sky, prior to co-founding LMH in 2016. Memnon and LMH are part of the ES Media Group, whose brands include ES Broadcast and Film Store Rental. The ongoing coming-together of Memnon and LMH is viewed as a natural progression as the group continues to grow its service offering in this sector.

Edwards and the LMH team will continue to build new and service existing client relationships under the unified brand. Clive Kingston, LMH’s director of production and operations, will take charge of UK operations day-to-day. LMH’s clients draw similarities with Memnon’s, with the team having delivered projects for the likes of the BFI, ATP Media and All3 Media.

‘Memnon and LMH becoming one organisation is an important step in establishing real synergy in order to realise the value and potential of both companies,’ added Ben Murphy, CEO of the ES Media Group. ‘With these appointments and the vast industry experience across the expanded Memnon team, I’m excited about what this means for the growth not just of Memnon, but also the wider ES Media Group.’
